EMERGENCY ORDER OF CLOSURE
COMES NOW, the Mississippi Gaming Commission (“MGC”), upon due consideration of the threat of COVID-19, and issues this Emergency Order of Closure and for cause finds, as follows:
1.The Mississippi Gaming Commission has jurisdiction over this matter pursuant to section 75-76-105 of the Gaming Control Act.
2.COVID-19 poses an immediate threat to the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare of the patrons and employees located at the subject establishments.
3.Continuation of casino operations poses an immediate threat to the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare of patrons and employees of the subject establishments.
4.Emergency measures are necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and general welfare.
THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that the licenses of the above referenced casinos are hereby conditioned upon the evacuation of all patrons from the casino as soon as possible but no later than 12:00 midnight March, 16th, 2020, securing all casino areas and thereafter having only essential personnel present in the casino. The establishments shall be closed until further notice as the threat of COVID-19 will be evaluated daily to determine a reopen date.
The establishments shall reopen only upon the directive of the Executive Director of the MGC.
This order is effective immediately upon issuance and service.
